Isaiah 47

Let me read verse 1 as well.

Isaiah 47, verse 1 and 8 and 9.

Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon.

Sit on the ground.

I was still doing the same thing, just like trying to do it my way.

And then I got so convicted by Isaiah 47 where he's rebuking the Babylonians for practicing astrology.

And that's when I got born again because I became aware that, oh, you're not just a savior, you are God, you are Lord.

And if I really want this, if I really want you, I have to listen.

Happy Wednesday, everybody.

We are in Isaiah 47 today.

Isaiah continues to do some amazing prophecy because he is predicting what's going to happen 150 years before it actually takes place.

And this is the overthrow of Babylon by the Persians.

Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Isaiah chapter 47 verse 1 to Isaiah 49 verse 7 Isaiah chapter 47 Go down, sit in the dust, virgin daughter Babylon.

Sit on the ground without a throne.

queen city of the Babylonians, no more will you be called tender or delicate.

All of them go on in their error.

There is not one that can save you.

Isaiah chapter 48 Listen to this, you descendants of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and come from the line of Judah, You who take oaths in the name of the Lord and invoke the God of Israel, but not in truth or righteousness, you who call yourselves citizens of the holy city and claim to rely on the God of Israel, the Lord Almighty is his name.

I foretold the former things long ago.

And that's what we have to look forward to is the kingdom.

And I'm just going to go ahead and get Isaiah 47 and one.

It says, come down and sit in the dust.

Oh, virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground.

Verily the grass withered and the flower thereof falleth away.

Isaiah 47.

What is there to compensate the loss? The fountain has failed.

The stream has dried up.

But we will come to more about this, a bit more of this section.

In fact, when you look at Isaiah 47, you will find that God will judge Babylon because of all these Sorceries, multitude of sorceries, astrology.

How many are reading horoscope here? Don't put your hand up.

These things are condemned, right? We, the Christians, should never seek supernatural knowledge about our future from a source that is not from God.

And, um, and so, and it was sent out to all of us that would understand that language.

Isaiah 34:14.

And when you see in that scripture where it says the night hag, just different translation, screeching owl, this is actually a Hebrew word, lilim, which in our language, in English, we would say [laughs] Lilith.

And so, um, and this is an ancient principality that they worshiped in Jewish mysticism and occultism, and they believed in their demonic belief system that, um, that i- in the demonic belief system, that she was created before Eve in the Garden, and that she had to take a role of submission with Adam, and she rebelled and fled from the Garden of Eden.

in what she wants to kill, and how she appears in a demonic form.

they use the reference like night hag or screeching owl in Isaiah 34:14, and now I hope this is okay.

I, I really, I, I talk about these things, but at the same time, I don't want to glorify darkness either.

And then prophets rose and they warned, unless you turn, even though God promised all these blessings, God will raise up Babylonians.

In fact, I think Isaiah, 6th century prophet, was one of the first to actually rise up and say, you know, one day Babylonians or Chaldeans will come and carry away all the vessels, all the treasuries, all the golden things, Cups, everything that you show them in your temple, all of that will be taken away one day.

And your children will be taken away as well.

And that word came to pass.

So Daniel, born in the wrong timing, he actually took out the short end of the straw.

He found himself not because of his own sin, but because of the sins of his father's national sin.

had to be judged he was born in such a time and now he's in a foreign land as an exile such a promising young man with great intelligence and integrity royal blood and everything he is in a tender age but everything that he would have hoped for really has gone down gone down the gurgler you know As part of the military conquest, Nebuchadnezzar took some of the holy vessels according to the prophecy of Isaiah 39 verse 6.

And this is to display the superiority of his God.
