And having already won the time trial, he's the first junior male to do the double at the Worlds since Remco Evenepoel in 2018.

And Slovak cyclist Viktoria Hladoňová has become the world champion in the women's under-23 road race.

In the final uphill sprint, she defeated the home favourite Canadian Isabella Holmgren.

Just 19 years old, Hladoňová was the central figure of the 134-kilometre race in Montreal.

With three attacks at decisive moments, she broke up the ground of favorites and ultimately reached the finish line, accompanied only by Holmgren.

But, I mean, the time is now for a Canadian World Championships on the women's side, isn't it? Because Canadian riders have been absolutely everywhere this year.

it's perfectly timed and uh you know a lot of very young riders there you've mentioned there with a lot of potential um the holmgren sisters of course at the forefront of that and yeah we saw isabella holmgren had a fantastic year didn't she not i mean tour de france uh top 10 but also giro top 10 as well and uh what a fantastic climber uh she is what an amazing prospect and yeah she's a rider that could go pretty well uh i mean i don't think she's among the favorites but she she was top 10 and uh liege best on liege and flesh well on so she can obviously race well in a kind of a hilly one day race so yeah i think the canadians uh should have a lot to uh shout for but at the roadside uh in montreal on saturday and um Yeah, I think they should be really pleased with where they're at, really a growing nation, cycling-wise at least.

Yeah, and last year, Swaringa was fourth in the junior women's road race at the championships in Kigali.

And Isabella Holmgren, she was sixth in the U23.

They're both in U23 this year.
