Well, look, I've got a short time, so here's a condensed version of my story.

So I grew up here in kids' church under Pastor Allison.

And, you know, let's call it when I was 10, I decided I want to play bass like my dad.

My dad for years played bass here in church, as many of you would know.

So I did that.

Around that time, I was sort of 10-ish.

How much time do I have? Five minutes.

And then it got me thinking, as a high school teacher, how do you encourage your students to take the skills that you're teaching them with What Up SA, the metacognition, and, um, helping them with their next endev- endeavor, whether that's college, or the workforce, or trade school? Like, why do you think these skills are so important to be a strong member of society?

Oh, man, those are great questions.

I, uh, to start off, encouragement is key.

Those first few weeks of school, uh, is nothing but praise and positivity, uh, which eventually leads to actualization or consequences after the first exam in September.

So we wanna make it real for them, but most importantly, we want to identify and learn the pro- the, the, the process of the productive struggle.

Um, and especially those first few weeks.

It is very important and an integral part of the matriculation process in our class.

They, do they have to unlearn a lot in order to m- to get there?
