of the NBL's most talented and inspirational big men retired during the week with Adelaide 36's star Isaac Humphries succumbing to a lengthy battle with knee issues.

It was the end of a pretty special career that took Isaac all the way to the NBA and saw him become a role model in the LGBTQIA plus community.

where he became the only active basketball in the world to be openly gay.

But also, I literally can't play.

So it was a huge part of it was that as well.

He's had a glittering career that we're going to run through in terms of the accolades and what he was able to accomplish as well.

probably isn't going to show that but when you've got three starters out of your team for them to be at 50 50 um they've had some big wins on on the road you know beat sydney on the road beat tasmania on the road um i think when they get those players back if i had to pick one team right now who can who i think is the best chance to win it with a full team i think it's the adelaide 36s

I mean, when you have Bryce Cotton on your team, you're always going to be in with a chance, aren't you? Isaac Humphries retiring.

Could you share some words on Isaac Humphries?

Yeah, he's had a great career.

I was disappointed.

I know I'm being biased to Adelaide here, but I think his play has been unbelievable.

And then the fact that Isaac Humphries is now retired and not coming back.

Rokosevic is that starting centre for the rest of the year.

Played more of a bench role last year, so it has to be him.

So I agree he hasn't looked 100%, but I don't think he's redlined his game yet because maybe physically he can't quite do that.

chris it's been a big week for the 36s their iconic big man isaac humphries forced into early retirement with that niggling knee injury he's been such a presence for the mbl though and and i think he he will go on to do bigger better greater things we know that he's got so many skill sets but can you just talk to us about the legacy that isaac leaves behind because it is a big one

It's bigger than basketball and I think we all know that, what he's been able to do on the court but how he's used his platform on the court to address issues off the court I think has been outstanding.

I heard Mark Worthington speak, he'll have a bigger platform even after basketball now I think.

So I congratulate him on what he's been able to do both on and off the court.

Now speaking on the court because that's what we're here to do, He's been really, really consistent.

And I think that's one thing that if you hang your hat on, you say, what are you going to get every single game? I think you've got a fairly good idea from Isaac Humphries.

And he wasn't able to get back.
