Yeah.

I regard Gaspar Noé's Irreversible as kind of a work of art.

It is.

In a way, because it moves you to feel something.

No, it's actually 24, pardon me, a 24-hour span.

It was by Gaspar Noé, Monica Bellucci, Vincent Casale, Irreversible, famous for its exceedingly long assault scene.

But that film is paced in a way, and it's written in a way that... that there are two versions.

Like, for the 20th, Noé reworked his editing that it literally flipped it around, and it still was a great story that hit totally differently.

this did not make me feel that way i did not feel any kind of way watching this where i was like grossed out because it's for somebody with half a brain uh it's easy to see there's distinctions here like there's there's a more complex narrative there's there's know uh a lot of play it's an artistic film uh and it just it didn't it didn't bother me at all the way a lot of those things do so i mean i can see why some people at the time and maybe later you know if you have a very like puritanical view and you take everything literally um i can see why you'd get upset but i i don't think there's it was all kind of a nothing burger with this movie

I think you could probably draw some parallels to the rape scene in Irreversible in the sense that there's enough of a movie around it where you're like, okay, the director probably went a little bit too far, but there's still a movie there, right? It's not just pure exploitation.

It's Martyrs, Irreversible for very graphic rape in that movie.

It's just – it's difficult.

And it's like the rest of the movie is so – insane anyway that it's just like it feels like torture watching it sure the girl next door which i have no idea why i wrote watched it after i read the book that's the jack kitchum novel where they kidnap the girl and just torture her for the entire book in horrible ways you know like i read the book i have no idea why i read that watched the movie you

I mean, yeah, you wonder what the atmosphere on set must be like.

Well, and it's like...

Do they keep it light? The simulated rape with Monica Bellucci in Irreversible, like...

It goes on for like 10 minutes.

Before the mid-movie credits, it's definitely building up to something.

Irreversible was told in reverse.

Enter the Void was very stylistic.

I've never seen Love, but I imagine it's probably not really much about love.

Maybe the context should be everyone's gushing over this film, and you're like, "It's okay, but guys, come on."

For a while, that movie was Irreversible by Gaspar Noé for me.

Yeah.

But as I get older and it's just like, gosh, this movie, I'm still thinking about it and it made such a strong impression on me, it's hard for me to be like I, I, I don't, I don't hate it, you know?

Apex Twin, yeah, the first one I did, yeah.

I remember him saying that, I think for Irreversible, he had, you know, talked to Thomas Banja and Tor.

I think he did some of the music for Irreversible.

And certainly for that film, Climax was the one that I interviewed Gaspar Noy for, and I think he contributed to that as well.
