Ironman Lake Placid

We're going to rapid fire a couple of housekeeping notes.

First one, Jim, you've mentioned this before, but if you were thinking about Ironman Lake Placid or Ironman Canada, we're going to have some cohort groups that are building together that Jim is going to be leading.

So regular Zoom meetings and social time, things like that, we will probably join forces.

So if you're coaching with me or with you, you know, we're going to get these people together so that you have new friends on race day.

So I'm sure we will have plenty to talk about next time we hop on.

But in the meantime...

So my guidance to anyone doing their first Ironman is firstly, you don't need to do the full marathon in training.

You don't need to enter the London marathon ahead of doing Ironman Leeds or the New York marathon ahead of doing Ironman Lake Placid.

You Don't need to do that.

The reason is it's different doing a standalone marathon.

Um, marathoner first, got injured, switched to triathlon like so many triathletes.

Um, and I did Ironman Lake Placid the same year as you-

But right now, alongside our usual suspects, Belinda Granger, Mark Matthews, Marina Carfrae is back again and making her Destaboo 10-time World Champion, the last woman to successfully defend a Kona title.

Give it up for the Undisputed Goat.

The venues, though, oh my gosh, Ironman New Zealand in Taupo, New Zealand, one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Ironman Lake Placid was like always going home.

It was the first, uh, US-based, uh, Ironman.

I loved, loved going there.
