Scholars have pointed out connections between ancient Celtic cultures and ancient India, and Bridget's miraculous cow evokes thought of India's reverence for cattle.

Hindus refer to cows as mother and honor them for the way they sustain life with their milk.

In Hindu belief, the god Krishna is in love with Radha, who is a cow-maker.

Bridget and her cow go back to very ancient beliefs about cows as a divine gift.
