The early pace was aggressive with leaders initially threatening Safan Hassan's 218-22 course record.

Veteran runner Cherono, who's 46, led through the halfway point, but Chep Chachir and Irene Cheptai caught her shortly before the 28K.

Perez Chep Chachir then began pulling away from Cheptai before the 35K.

She reached 35K on course record pace, but slowed slightly during the closing kilometers there.

Right, on the women's side, Perez, Chip Chirichir came out on top with a 218.31. Second was Irene Cheptai from Kenya, three minutes, 40 seconds behind her.

And then third was Sharoon Demisi-Were, who was, yeah, another four minutes behind second.

So a bit more spread out on the women's side.

But you can always expect a surprise.

So a couple of the, the, the main suspects, Irene Cheptai, who, um, silver medalist at the Commonwealth Games over 10K.

She has some podium experience at majors.

She was third in Chicago in 2024.

Um, she is, yeah, I think just head and tails above the rest.
