I, I think the Investcorp era is, is probably my favorite because it's this weird no man's land of opportunity.

right, so now you went from working in Morgan Stanley and Investcorp to creating your own private equity firm.

Well, actually, I

moved from Investcorp in London, and I was one of the first founding members of a platform here called Gulf Capital in the region.

I joined, I was the first employee, built the private equity platform.

stayed with them for 14 years, and then decided to spin out with a couple of my colleagues from Gulf Capital at the time and set up Olive Rock Partners.

By 1993, Mauricio owes the bank something like $40 million, and that's just for personal loans.

Gucci is fighting for survival at that point, so he can't pay, and he's forced to sell his shares to Investcorp.

Mauricio feels like he gave it everything he had.

And now, for the first time ever, Gucci is no longer owned by the Gucci family.
