He'd be expecting more.

I know they're away from home and I know we've just said Huntley are going well, but they're no better than that I think personally and they've now they've now got a big a big week ahead when they're now into the cup with Invergordon they also play Invergordon later this month in the league so they've got a lot sorry it's Rothis Rothis twice and Invergordon to come they need to get going here and McIntosh will be looking for a lot more it's a bad state of affairs when you're praising your goalkeeper who's under the weather for keeping the score down and you've been beat 4-0

Okay, just to round off the weekend's Highland League matches, Calum, who's it been a better week for cutting the cut in our forest mechanics?
Callum LawPANELIST
13:55
Well, Forrest have had a good week as well, the last week.

So I could see totally where Robbie Duncanson was coming from and I mean they've got guys, at the moment Clark that are in really good form Jordan McRae scored again I think he's up to 16 for the season now Shea Keogh's been scoring regularly of late he was also on target Craig Laurie got the other and a good three points for them and I don't think Strathspey had any complaints really Aaron Doran felt it was as poor a display or as disappointing a display as they've had all season in terms of sort of the cutting edge and the quality on the ball that he looks for given the players they've got he just felt it wasn't there and I was just disappointed with how it went but they'll get quite a chance soon enough to try and make up for that because the sides do it all again at Grant Street on Saturday in the first round of the our davidson bankery highland league cup so be interesting to see how the the rematch goes and you were mentioning forrest they beat invergordon 4-2 at ali mcgregor park and i think we're you know well he's invaduri have played half their games and a lot of teams now have played 15 or 16 games so we're almost at the halfway point and i think forrest For me, they've had a very good first half of the league season, 24 points from their 16 games and given, which has been spoken about here plenty, but given the changes in the summer and maybe the sort of youthfulness of Forest's squad and also it's quite, in terms of numbers, it's quite tight.
Callum LawPANELIST
16:15
They maybe don't have the same depth as some other teams to be sitting eighth in the table with 24 points at this stage, I think.

Stephen McDonald the players have done very well clearly and I think Stephen McDonald the manager has done a fine job like he did I think I've said before I thought he did very well last season to you know bring silverware back to Mosset Park and then with the challenges he's faced this season I think he's continuing to do a really good job for Forrest and one person I think I would flag up for that on Saturday as well and it's easy saying that after he's scored a couple of goals but Matt Jamieson got two and he's somebody who in recent seasons has been a key player for Forrest and this season so far has probably been quite tough for him he's not really been maybe scoring the goals or creating the goals as regularly as he has in the past but he's kind of in the last few weeks he's kind of been coming back to sort of the levels he he expects himself and that for us expect from him and hopefully for him getting a couple of goals will just help him kick on again and for Invergordon Gary Campbell really disappointed with their showing defensively just felt it was too they were too easy to play against too easy to score against slack in the back and I mean they've scored two goals and they're two good finishes actually and they had their share especially first half by all accounts their share of the play and created chances but if you're conceding four goals it's always going to be very difficult for you and we will have shown you the goals on screen if you were watching them and wondering why you've only seen five rather than six goals we didn't have Forrest's first one because I believe that It was after five minutes or so and I believe the recording device wasn't switched on at that point, so I'm told.
Callum LawPANELIST
18:03
So that's why there's a goal missing in what you've just watched.

Like one of those days, winter's coming, I think.
Callum LawPANELIST

But I in for Gordon after three straight defeats in all competitions.

And Gary Campbell sort of bemoaning a bit of a lack of consistency, maybe both in terms of his team selection at times due to who was available and not available and also in terms of maybe level of performance I think that was more like it from them eventually on Saturday and back to winning ways I mean he did say afterwards that a few stern or perhaps choice words were required at half time to extract a bit more from his team because he said the first half he felt at times it was like a pre-season game where it didn't really look like it mattered to them so I think they were safe to say I think they were left in no doubt about what he was looking for in the second half and to be fair to them to the Invergorne players they reacted and responded well face at a Started the second half up until about 70 minutes, penned Rothes in, they couldn't get out, hit a woodwork a couple of times, Simon Rubilas had a couple of good saves, there was a lot of set pieces that Rothes had to defend and eventually for one of them, Joe Coyle, broke the deadlock and then not long after he won a penalty tucked it away 2-0 and that was job done really for Invergordon and I have to say like I get on well with him but just when you speak to Gary you can tell there is that edge so can I say I wouldn't have liked him you know maybe roaring at me real half time
Ryan CryleHOST

Even reading his quotes, he doesn't mince his words.

end up, you know, it looks like you're sort of cruising through really and they end up conceding two penalties in quick succession which both scored and then Lochie scored I think last kick of the ball basically to knock them out and you know in recent years the locals haven't had a particularly good record in the cup I think it's only one tie they've won in seven seasons now and that does feel you know, Lachie in the Lowland League East team now, and they are clearly a good side, but for the position of control that Inverudie had, that does feel like a big opportunity missed.
Callum LawPANELIST
15:16
Similarly, Invergordon were 2-0 up away to three Rovers and ended up being beat 3-2, and again, sort of... almost spookily familiar almost when Verruri had 2-0 up early in the second half two penalties conceded and then I think lost the winner with about 10 minutes to go and Gary Campbell just felt afterwards I think where his squad's at at the minute and maybe certain key individuals missing he felt when he was having to make subs and things just didn't quite have the experience probably he was looking for to go on and sort of get a grip of that game in the second half and see it out really so That was a sore one for them and probably made it even worse when you've been beaten and you realise that you're about 270 miles from home.
Callum LawPANELIST
16:02
It's a long bus journey home that one.
Callum LawPANELIST
16:05
So they were two I think were really frustrating.
