The Maryland State Police are investigating an early morning crash yesterday on northbound I-97 near Route 32 that injured a highway worker in an active work zone.

Police say that a Mercedes struck the rear of a Toyota that was slowing down for a lane closure, then veered into the work zone and hit a 31-year-old highway worker and a portable light tower.

The worker was taken to a local trauma center.

Again, a little bit more snow covered on roads like...

Route 50, Interstate 97 down on the Annapolis side where the south end has certainly gotten hit with a lot more snow since we talked earlier in the 3 o'clock hour.

Traffic along I-70, also snow covered in a lot of areas heading out toward western Maryland.

No major difficulty on the Harrisburg Expressway.

Very nice through Annapolis.

Three lanes westbound, two eastbound at the Bay Bridge, and then everybody's okay at Ritchie Highway, the Severn River Bridge, looking at you live here, top of the hill at I-97 at Route 32.

Still a good pace there.

Morning backup has arrived now towards Annapolis.

It gets better after the bridge at one seventy-eight.

That will change about half an hour or so.

We're good at the Bay Bridge.

Okay at the Severn River Bridge.

And then clear from Rowe Boulevard over towards I-97.

And then the early ride at the Severn River Bridge through Rowe Boulevard over through Parole, all the lanes are open.

About an hour from now, we'll start to see a little bit of that backup along I-97 at Route 32.

Have not seen any problems towards the Capitol Beltway, but the outer loop fills in quickly now.

Route 29 around to the Mormon Temple, and there's a brief delay starting to form on the inner loop after 214 with the heavy traffic right before the Woodrow Wilson Bridge as you're heading into Northern Virginia, but with the lanes open right now.

Morning backups there.

Top of the hill at I-97 southbound at Route 32.

City fire out on the southwest side.

I think they're in the area Ramsey Street, not too far off the area on the southwest side, uh, above Wilkins Avenue.

Just looked at the camera west of there now, and the, uh, backups now are easing just a bit.

It may still take another 45 minutes or so for that to clear, but at least we're on the move once again for the traffic coming east and down the hill and eventually into Frederick and towards I-270.

The backup in Annapolis is still there at I-97 at Route 32.

It's actually gonna get better after the bridge at 178, and then the junction Indianapolis looks to be in good shape right here at I-97 and Route 50.

In Annapolis right now, I-97, Route 32, as you might expect early, no big problems going south from there.

Bay Bridge is fine, three lanes westbound, two lanes eastbound, and then over at Ritchie Highway and the Severn River Bridge, all the lanes are clear.

No issues on the Beltway early, that's good.

Southwest side of the Beltway, a report of a minor wreck.

I haven't looked at it yet, but I'll get a look at it soon here on the interloop near 648.

That could be an impact there if you're coming up the Beltway from I-97 and then working your way up into that area right now, just changing the camera to go back over there and check.

I don't see anything in the camera coming up from I-97, but it looks like we'll be okay getting by.

Still clear early in the morning.

No issues on the BW Parkway right now.

It's there every day as you're coming down from Benfield Boulevard, coming down from Odinson and Gambrills right there at the split.

Might want to back it down just a bit.
