Oakland only allows diesel-burning trucks on Highway 880 that runs right through my neighborhood.

I care about my family's health,

and this is unacceptable.

Bay Area roads are wide open, looking great this hour.

Along the East Bay, the Nimitz Freeway is completely problem-free here, uneventful between Oakland and Fremont.

You'll see plenty of headlights, though, heading towards San Leandro, but I would expect zero delays driving northbound towards the city.

The Hayward community said goodbye today to a firefighter and paramedic who died by suicide after struggling with his mental health.

Firefighters and other first responders led a procession along Interstate 880 to honor Travis Foster.

His passing is being recognized as a line of duty death.

Foster had been with the Hayward Fire Department since 2018.

At least two others or cars were involved, including one that rolled over.

Video shows damage to the front of the CHP patrol car.
