An I-480 bridge project offers a great deal of insight into how a small job can become a big job as work begins and issues get discovered.

Lisa, what's the story of the bridge near I-71?

I'm actually going down Ohio 8 to get to Akron.

I'm not taking I-480 over to Kent State this week.

Courtney, what should people do to avoid it?

Yeah, if you're looking at the I-480 and I-77 interchange, you should keep your eye on, on these closures.

So these are gonna run from 8:00 PM Friday until 5:00 AM Monday.

And most importantly, the I-77 ramps onto I-480 eastbound are gonna be closed.

So you've gotta keep going down 480, get off at Granger Road, and then hop back on coming east to get to I-77.

You know, we're also gonna see the I-480 eastbound exit ramp to Transportation Boulevard close down, and the local lanes of I-480 eastbound over the Valley View Bridge, they're gonna be closed as well.

Yeah, people really need to pay attention if they're going anywhere this weekend 'cause, uh, it's a beautiful weather, I think at least for one of the days.

People wanna get outside, [chuckles] and they're going to find that their pathways are dropped.
