Interstate 290

And tonight we're watching for an update on what led to a police chase in the western suburbs.

At least one person is in custody tonight after leading police on a pursuit on I-290.

Chopper 7 was over the scene as the chase ended near Wolf Road in Westchester this afternoon.

We have not yet heard about any charges.

Tracy, we do have reports of a crash right now outbound Eisenhower at 9th Avenue.

Crews are heading out there to check it out, but just a heads up in case you're heading out the door.

Our expressways right now, most of them looking okay, no huge, huge delays.

We are seeing a delay, though, through this ongoing construction zone, so nothing new, but westbound I-290 seeing definitely some delays here, top of the brakes, Higgins to Gulf Road.

Perhaps crews may be closed an additional lane or two.

This creates a circuit split with the Fifth and Tenth Circuits.

Seems like the Eighth Circuit might be on the Second Circuit's side on this already, though, so there, as well as an unpublished Ninth Circuit decision.

Nor does it really matter to the court what the applicable form, the Form I-290B says.

Good to know, both that it doesn't matter and that that's the proper form to bring such a motion to CBP.

More powerful to me, at least at first blush, was the fact that the statute itself bars reopening of a removal order after it's been reinstated, right? The INA bars reopening of a removal order after reinstatement.

And I would get a phone call seven minutes after I get in the car and we would go through the show.

And this will be the first drive down the Eisenhower without that call.

It was just so weird.

We were kind of just silent driving down the Eisenhower, driving down 290 and just kind of silent and listening to the radio broadcast.

And That's when the towers fell, and you'd see other people on the highway driving and just crying.

And then we played in this golf outing, and we were close down by Midway Airport, and there wasn't a plane in the sky, and it was weird.

Even as a young man, I'd be smarter than that.

But do you think in some instances with the hiring of some of these ICE agents, and the reason I ask this is because when I drive outbound on the Eisenhower and I get out by almost to just a little past Oak Park where they have the Eisenhower Tower, it's called, there is a billboard there saying 18 years old, join the Cook County Police Department.

And I think to myself, wow, you can go through all the training you want in the world, but at the end of the day, you're still 18 years old.

Do you think some of these agents were hurried through?
