Yeah, we always meet in different places.

We are now here in Vilnius, ISTQB conference here.

And we are both speakers here too.

And so I grabbed the opportunity to get you into my podcast here.

Then the test case creation is also very good.

Because that's a simple task where you can just make sure that the functional test cases are being created.

And to understand if the knowledge that you learned, let's say from an ISTQB foundation level, is still there and you have still the same understanding.

Or is the AI starting to hallucinate and... doing some stuff that it doesn't meet.

So, you know, we saw this quite quick emergence where even myself and Tariq and, and Jason all had something to blame in the early 2020s when we were saying, "Oh, become a prompt engineer." And then, you know, 2022, 2023, people discovered RAG, retrieval-augmented generation.

They all got really excited that they could stick, like Bill Gates told us in 1980, "640K is all you'll ever need in memory." You put your 640K markdown file and into a RAG, add a large language model, bish, bash, boom, it now knows everything about testing, right? You know, you drop in the ISTQB book or whatever, we're all good.

We don't need testers anymore, and then it'll take the test, the ISTQB theory practice, and it'll pass it, like Jason did five years ago.

But that doesn't mean it's a tester, right? And I think this is where suddenly testers aren't like developers, right? Maybe they're a little bit more savvy or g- more questioning.

They've got the critical thinking.

So we have to learn all this stuff for the future, for the prompt engineering you mentioned.

And when we look on your other role, you are also a very active part of the ISTQB.

You're part of the exec there.

Yes.

When we look at all this certification, the last 20, 25 years now, it helps to professionalize our point of where we are now and our profession where we are now as a tester.

And what is in your, when you look at the ISTQB portfolio, what are the main certifications and learning paths you would suggest to go there to deal with all this stuff in the future?

Yeah, if you're more interested, when we were talking about AI, we have two certifications on AI in the ISPQB.

If you are interested in using the AI for testing, that's definitely the GenAI syllabus.
