And I was recording an episode about English language difficulties.

IGCSE with Andrea Gadsby and it was a really she's really fun it was a really fun episode and within about about 20 minutes in you know I always do the tell us about your home education journey or because she wasn't home educating it was like tell us about you know your experience with home ed or something right And within about 20 minutes, I realized that we were not going to be talking about English language.

We were going to be talking about how much teachers hate school.

And I was 100% there for that episode.

You must agree with the statement, right? Most of us do, without a doubt.

Be it an internal assessment or a board exam such as IGCSE or IB or CBSE or ICSE or a global test such as the SAT or the ACT, exams have truly cemented their status as an imperative point in one's life.

But you must have wondered, who really runs these exams? Who decides that the questions being asked are fair to the students? The students who in this day and age are not restricted by the confines of borders or those of thoughts.

Who determines if technology, which we must admit is an omnipresent element of our lives at this point, is being used in the right way when designing, executing and even grading these exams? Well, I, for one, have had these questions perennially persist in my thoughts since the first exam I ever wrote more than four years ago.

Yeah.

Because I, I think it's changing now, um, because IGCSE and all of that is actually coming in-

Yeah, it is more project-based and they're looking less at, you know-

places have needed little help with.

Cambridge do offer, and it is very similar to the IELTS exam, an IGCSE in English as an additional language.

I think there's three.

There's English as a first language, English as an additional language, and then there is one more.

It's basically no English.

IGCSE.

I think they might differentiate between EAL and ESL, so it's English.

Hiding it under their pillow, right? So it's this point of when are we going to start thinking about retirement? And I ask that because I saw what happened with the war in Sudan and, you know, the destinies that meant many people.

And, you know, and for me, like, oh, my God, when I saw that story about the Sharjah ruler coming out and saying that school is free for Sudanese students, I believe it's in government schools, not the IGCSE system.

You cannot believe how happy I sent it to my cousins immediately.

Because, Majid, the biggest crisis that came out of the war is the education crisis.
