Interdisciplinarity

Today's guest is Dr. Leonardo Faedo, a research scientist, agronomist and sociologist specializing in agroecology, environmental practices and sustainable agriculture.

He holds dual PhDs in interdisciplinary studies in agroecology, water and resilience from Coventry University in the UK.

and in plant sciences from the University of Santa Catarina State in Brazil.

His academic credentials also include a master's degree in plant sciences from UDESC and an MBA in agribusiness from the Federal University of Parana in Curitiba, Brazil.

So I end up in the African and African-American Studies program at Harvard, which I absolutely loved.

And the term that really galvanizes the program in my mind is Interdisciplinarity.

And the program really prides itself on interdisciplinarity.

And for me, it was the perfect place to blend this love of not only studying Black people, my people, but also religion and music.
