Intelligence Authorization Act

It is section 1217, which incorporates the Senate Armed Services Committee of the NDAA with the House version presented to the Senate.

including the National Intelligence Authorization Act.

So it's very common for the Intelligence Authorization Act to be earmarked or attached into the National Defense Authorization Act because those two funding streams are very much closely associated in terms of Title 10, Department of Defense, and Title 50, the CIA.

And they blend well.

And that basically gave us the framework that we have today as a result of the legislation coming out ultimately of the Iran-Contra affair and other concerns that Congress had with respect to the agency's activities.

And this framework was first established by the Intelligence Authorization Act of 1991.
