Welcome, Steve, to, to Trade Policy Decoded.

So Steve has, um, a number of affiliations, but currently he's senior visiting fellow at the ISEAS Institute for Southeast Asian Studies Yusof Ishak Institute in Singapore, which is a part-time role.

But he has a number of other interesting roles as well, including the World Economic Forum Global Futures Council on Trade, where he is a member; The Economist's Impact Future of Trade Initiative, interesting title, uh, Steering Committee; and the Italian Institute for International Political Studies.

And Steve's got, got a very distinguished career at the Hinrich Foundation, so in the regional trade policy context.

Um, and hello to all our listeners or your listeners.

Um, uh, my name is Ian Storey, and I'm a principal fellow at the ISEAS Yusof Ishak Institute, uh, in Singapore.

That's, uh, we're a research institution or a, or a think tank in Singapore.

I work on regional security issues and particularly Southeast Asia's relations with the major powers.

Basically, I just wrote my PhD [laughs] thesis.

But my wr- writing began only after I came back to the region, and I was in Singapore for about 14 years, uh, in the think tank ISEAS Yusof Ishak Institute there.

That was when I discovered that, or I, I came to realize that reading, writing is quite central to our own, to the, my personal intellectual development.

I think best when I write, and when I start writing, I don't even know what I, what I'm going to end up with.
