Cologne Institute for Economic Research

We are talking on September 16th, 2026.

And Samina Sultan, our guest, is senior economist at the German Economic Institute in Cologne, Germany.

For German speakers, it's the IVE Köln.

And she was previously a researcher at the German Council of Economic Experts.

Our topic today is investment and more specifically foreign direct investment.

And the reason we've chosen this is that there have been two interesting reports from Samina Sultan and her colleagues at the German Economic Institute.

We'll link those in the show notes.

And they address the questions of foreign direct investment in the United States and in Germany.
