Instant Family

We're probably going to talk about that a lot more in future episodes before the year is out.

But that Hallmark movie, you know, we watch movies, we watch things like Instant Family, for example.

We watch other movies too.

of a similar nature and while it does highlight the challenges it does it from a comedy point of view and then of course by the end everybody's happy and smiling and having a wonderful time and I call BS on that because actually no that's not you know it's I don't want to say it's unachievable but it's not a reality for most people and it's certainly not a consistent day in day out reality for families because that trauma doesn't go you know yes we can rewire the brain as much as possible but it doesn't actually go and so there is this kind of grief for what we thought ideal family life might look like mandy can i ask a question of you yeah in terms of grief whichever grief we might be thinking about all of them in reality i guess Have you ever carried any guilt for feeling grief and loss about any aspect of being a therapeutic parent?

And then the second time would be when I'm parenting, stay-at-home mom life, and Kevin wants us to move to another state and do foster care.

The movie Instant Family,

Mark Wahlberg, and in the movie, he's married to a British actor who plays an American.

I don't remember her name, but it is based on a true story that the director has lived through, and that is that he and his wife adopted a sibling group.

The softening over time through prayer, through surrender.

And, um, The heart gallery, the impact of that, you know, the timing of that.

And then it was really neat to hear how you use the term pierced when you talk about the movie Instant Family.

So there's a lot there, Kim Patton.

With the kids, and it's, like, based on a true story.

Instant Family, best movie ever.

I don't know if I've seen that.
