The annual Kavanagh Weekend Festival takes place in Inishkeen, County Monaghan, at the end of this month.

Actor and director Adrian Dunbar is involved in this year's festival through his Unreal Cities arts project.

The aspect of Patrick Kavanagh's work he's focusing on is the poet's little-known connection to beat poetry in the US in the 1950s and 60s.

There are some great club grounds that always make their facilities available to LGFA and Camogie.

You'll always hear LGFA and Camogie games being played in the likes of Banneher, in the likes of Inishkeen, around the country.

And this month, they turn to Patrick Kavanagh.

The Kavanagh Weekend is an annual festival marking the poet's legacy in Inishkeen, County Monaghan.

But this year, Unreal Cities have taken on curating it, building the programme around Kavanagh's surprising connection to the Beat Generation.

The festival runs from the 25th to the 27th of September with guests including Anne Waldman, Tommy Tiernan and the master musicians of Jajuka.

But thankfully, we have lots of good friends and friends in the Irish consulates and the embassies and so forth who help us.

So we're kind of good like that.

And I mean, Cavanagh's poetry is so rooted in that landscape around Inishkeen, it's going to have this whole extra dimension with the performers you're bringing, as you say, the students, the performers from the Lear and all of these wonderful international performers.
