Ingenieur

You know, I think there are some watches that people might complain about the prices and and fairly so, or at least be skeptical of, but then you put it on your wrist, or you experience one in person, and you're like, oh, okay, I kind of get it.

The IWC Ingenieur, I think, is a good example of this, and I'm not going to defend its pricing, but it is one of those watches that when you experience it in person, it doesn't feel like a cheap watch.

It's clearly well put together, and yeah, you can say what you want about the movement and all that kind of stuff, and and again i'm not looking to uh to defend the price or anything like that but but there's clearly an attention to detail uh that went into to producing that bracelet and of course they have their other kind of you know you know serratanium and and materials and stuff like that and iwc has their own thing but i would also in a lot of ways put iwc in this realm of boy a lot of these watches that we were really enthusiastic about in you know the the 90s or something like that or these are brands that got us into the hobby because of you know the iconic watches that they made through certain eras of time and the brands have just kind of like gotten away from that or maybe lost sight of those roots and what makes their brands so special to a lot of the customers in the kind of broader market That is to say, customers that aren't buying $100,000 watches or $50,000 watches or whatever.

There's a lot of enthusiasts that are looking for a great $5,000 watch or $6,000 watches.

Yeah, I think it is, for an anniversary watch, you could buy it and no one would ever know it was an anniversary watch, which is both a good thing and a bad thing.

I think, as you say, if you just want a silver dialed IWC Ingenieur, you just buy this.

You don't think about the fact that it's got these extra, it's literally only got one extra thing on the dial, a 50, which could frankly mean anything.

It just happens to be 50

If I'm to project onto you, and as a fellow IWC owner, I can tell you that my favorite thing about the brand and what they're doing is the power reserve enhancement to the standard movements.

The Ingenieur is five days.

The watch that you're wearing, is it seven, eight? Seven days.

Yeah, seven.

Yeah, there's movements that you can find in $2,000 and below watches and watches that they, Hublot produces that are $10,000 plus.

That's where I get a little annoyed.

You could, Bring it back for a second and say that, you know, the new IWC Mark 20 shares a movement with the IWC Ingenieur.

I would say in that case, you're getting an incredible movement in the Mark 20, which I owned for a bit of time.

I saw, I saw a comment from someone, and it was on the, on the IWC Ingenieur-

Mm-hmm

... 50th anniversary model.

And by coi- uh, not by coincidence, I was at a IWC event last weekend.

Mm.

And they had the watch there, and I tried it, and I thought, "Oh, it's not a bad Ingenieur.

This looks nice." And indeed, it has the 50 under Ingenieur.
