Well, here we go again with the divergence between LA and San Francisco.

We were a big supporter of Information Society, but we played What's On Your Mind to death.

Again, Steve Masters, nightclub guy, dance club guy, you'd think he would have played this ABBA cover.

What's On Your Mind became one of the biggest songs of the year.

Before that was Information Society.

I was going to play Running Away, and I had already picked out this song, the Generator 7-8, and I'm like, holy crap, they sound almost identical.

So I had to kind of switch it up a little bit.

A band that had a bunch of hits really fast and then disappeared just as quickly.

Talking about information society with what's on your mind, Pure Energy, number 10.

Now the pure energy in What's On Your Mind by Information Society, that traces back to Leonard Nimoy as Spock in the 1967 Star Trek episode, Errand of Mercy.

On the planet Organia, the citizens have moved past physical bodies and when two of them disappear right in front of Spock and Captain Kirk, he marvels, fascinating, pure energy, pure thought.

So what the hell happened to Information Society? Have you ever wondered that? I mean, in the late 80s, they looked like they'd have a long career.

Along with tracks that I tried to contribute, which was like Deer and Gray, Gacked, Information Society, that I was trying to get my friends excited about as well, you know, in this sort of shared experience of just trading music among each other.

And when I was doing that, like, the reason I feel compassion towards like my younger self for that is because there was such a desperate desire to like I need to listen to the right music to like get along with my spooky peers to be part of the in group but also at the same time you know the desire for sort of like acceptance not just yes we recognize that you do the same things that we do but also we like what you are contributing you know to our musical selection our melange
