yeah or certain people in your in your organization had cell phones and certain ones didn't right yeah you had a new space so you know tom i think that leads us into you know another article here and it's uh we've got this from digital commerce 360 and it's talking about salesforce and anthropic putting a big new partnership together and i think it's really interesting this is a I wish we had our buddy Steve Levy from Infor that was with us on our 200th celebration show, just from what he and Infor are seeing in the marketplace right now as well.

But I think we're...

You know, we think about the Gardner hype cycle, right, about our flow and adoption and that what is a trough of disillusionment is the section after the first part of hype.

And generally speaking, what happens is organizations buy software from a software provider, someone who develops the software.

And some of the common names you may recognize include SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, Workday, Infor, Epicor, NetSuite.

There's a bunch of them.

There's a lot of ERP vendors out there in the marketplace, and that list is only growing over time.

Um, and two examples would be, um, that are two of our, I would say, 12 different business platforms that we have are just pure technology companies.

One would be Infor.

Mm.

Um, that, um, that's actually, um, has been based here, um, in New York City, but that's ERP software, right? So when we acquired Infor, that was-- that brought us north of 30,000 software engineers overnight.

Mm.

So you can imagine from a capability lens what that did to teach us technology and how we should be applying, um, the-

Pro- and we just, we were under-invested there.

Mm-hmm.

Number seven on our list is Infor Cloud Suite Industrial Sideline.

Infor Cloud Suite Industrial Sideline is a great product.

Even though they have mixed mode manufacturing capabilities, it's probably not going to be as deep from the supply chain processes perspective.

kind of supply chain processes that you might find with other products for example if you compare this with syspro or qbd they are going to be far more aligned in general with those supply chain processes in fact in some of the supply chain industries you might have the process manufacturing centered processes in for cloud suite industrial does have a little bit of component of process manufacturing but it's not as deep as what you might find with either syspro or for example qad even plex has a little bit of process manufacturing even apico does but again it's the depth that matters so in for cloud suite industrial would be far more relevant for discrete manufacturers uh you know make to stock but it might not have as deep make to stock processes because they are very fast moving the kind of product model the bill of materials that you have as part of an in for cloud suite industrial it's designed for slightly more complex products complex manufacturing compared to simpler products and make to stock and the way those products work they are highly commoditized fast moving moves fast inside your warehouse in the finished good warehouse so in for cloud suite industrial is a great fit you know especially if you're looking for that you know complex manufacturing processes but for make to stock you might want to think about that a little bit if you are purely make to stock or maybe a hybrid of that hybrid may be okay but pure play make to stock you might find other products on this test that might be a better fit so that's number seven Number six on our list is Infor Cloud Suite LN or M3.

And Infor has many different cloud suites that target many different industries.

For each industry, they have a very specific cloud suite and they bundle one of their ERP.

For the make-to-stock space, you are going to have many different products that they are bundling.

I spent some time at Oracle.

I spent some time at Infor.

And then at an implementer of a partner of Microsoft that then got acquired by RSM.

And I've been here for about 12 years.

You got the Deloittes and the Accentures and the PWCs of the world.

Yeah, well, I have two competitors, two kinds of competitors.

I've got Oracle SAP, Infor, and the other ERP systems.

And I've also got Accenture, right.

And that's number two.

Number one on our list is Infor Cloud Suite LN.

And Infor does not like to name these products as LN anymore.

So you are going to find Infor Cloud Suites that are targeted for specific industries.

So for each of the industries, whether you are going to have the automotive, aerospace, or any other make-to-order-centric industries, Each of those are going to have the specific bundling of different products that Infor carries in its portfolio.

But underneath, they are going to utilize one of their ERP systems.

And they have roughly six or seven different ERP systems in their portfolio that they maintain with their CloudSuite bucket that are positioned for CloudSuite.

Now, in core cloud suite, LN is a much bigger product compared to, for example, if you compare this with even with Epicure Kinetic or in for cloud suite industrial sideline.

So returning to the show, we have Mr.

And the platform really... something at that level and looking across that much really does take the cloud.

And I mean, I know we're not here to advertise, but I think that, you know, that's where Infor really, really shines.

Awesome.

Because the capital comes from retained profits and not from outside equity markets, Coq can buy into businesses ranging from pulp and paper to cloud software at prices that align with each unit's risk profile.

The result has been a diversified conglomerate, Georgia, Pacific, Invista, Infor, each contributing to a steady revenue stream that feeds the next round of acquisitions.

The model isn't without its critics.

Some argue that concentrated ownership concentrates power and can drive political influence, though that's a separate debate.
