And so I don't think reconciliation is about relationships that mean that extraction can happen more smoothly.

I do think that it is about indigenization and Re-indigenization.

Do you want to begin with indigenization?

Indigenization is probably not a very accurate translation of the Slavic language.

So originally it was actually the Bolshevik policy to supply their cadres with local Ukrainians, just to win the sympathy of very agrarian society at the time.

So, indigenization is often now coupled with decolonization, and it's a bit of a difficult definitional kind of thing to pursue because many people talk about it, but it often has long, very, very sort of rambling discussions about it, but just from my analysis of all the various areas, and I did an edited volume on indigenization, so I did look at quite a few of the discussions.

Indigenization is bringing Aboriginal culture into the university, and it can be very innocuous.

It can be Renaming buildings after notable Aboriginal people, having artwork, giving Aboriginal students the support they need to be able to succeed, having more courses on Aboriginal subjects.

But the big problem for me was the incorporation of what's called Aboriginal ways of knowing or Indigenous ways of knowing into the curriculum.
