Indian River

... everything was frozen.

And I'm like, "I need to see Dunlins again," like, "It's been too long." And so I went down to Delaware 'cause I knew there was some down there, even though Delaware was pretty frozen, too, but the Indian River Inlet wasn't and there was Dunlins there, and so I went there.

Oh, nice.

And that looked like a, a pretty robust day trip, but just one day you went down and saw a lot of the coast there.

Wow

...

but yeah, we would have started at Indian River Inlet in the morning, and then we had considered Bombay Hook, but I think the wildlife drive was closed because of ice, and so we skipped that.

We went to Cape Henlopen because I hadn't had a brown-headed nuthatch yet, and I got that there.

Um, I l- actually, one of, um, my most recent one that was just published last year, uh, I actually discovered in one of Ed's books.

Um, the N- and this is kind of a, a more well-known one, because she's part of like, the ghost tours that they have, um, at the Indian River Inlet.

Yeah.

But Molly McGinn, The Ghost of Molly McGinn at the Indian River Inlet.

That book is about her.

And so I was able to read, like, his take on it and what he thought had happened to her as inspiration for what I think happened to her, and what her story was, and it was so much fun.

'Cause I, they're told in a dual timeline, so you have the ghost story while they were still alive, and how their life led them to their death and to, to haunting the place that they are.

But you also get present day, and I have a present day woman and her daughter and her sister, and they are interacting with the ghosts.

We are on our way south to our friend's house.

And we're going to stop at a tackle shop, find out some info, if it's worth fishing Indian River Inlet right now in the heat at this time of day or come back tomorrow.

And if it is fishy, then I'm going to get a license.

And then we're going to go to our friend's house.

The water's just super low, and there's probably 10 feet of muck between myself and whole shoreline is just nasty there's just this ring of muck so if i were to throw a line in here whatever i landed would have to be pulled through that and they don't mow up to the shoreline here so there's probably 10 feet of wildflowers and weeds between me and the shoreline so it's not the best spot for fishing redwing blackbird kill deer Couple other birds out.

I see no signs of fish.

We went down to the Indian River Inlet.

Everyone was down there fishing under the bridge in the shade.
