Incarnation

You find this with Rachel and Laban and the whole stealing of the teraphim.

Kings – want their kingdom, and their kingdoms are connected to geographical areas, right? There's something significant about what Jesus is doing in the Incarnation, where many New Testament scholars point out that he is reliving the story of Israel, and there's cosmic geography, where he goes in the land of Galilee, of Bashan, Mount Hermon, all these places.

This is not random.

It's actually all connected back to this issue of the Nephilim, the issue of of evil and how it spreads out throughout the world.

You are the Son of God.

You deserve this.

And it's actually an invitation for Jesus to misuse his authority, to abuse his authority, because in the Incarnation, he is submitting not ontologically forever, but for a season.

He is fulfilling the Incarnation, the full responsibility of humanity.

I can say, oh yeah, that makes sense.

Or Aquinas, for example, would say that the idea of the Incarnation It was revealed that God could have saved the world many different ways, but this is the most fitting way that God would come and take on our humanity and then go to the cross and die for our sins.

It's the most beautiful way.

So we can have the answer in the back of the book, so to speak, and then come to appreciate this revelation by applying our mind to begin to understand it.

But what the Pope is saying is if we're looking for something more than human, we have to look at Christ and only Christ.

Christ came, the Incarnation chose, he came and he embodied human.

He became us.

We were made in his image.

I mean, these things absolutely follow the understanding of the presuppositions of a life in Christ.

But it does cut to the heart of the gospel, right? Because we teach and preach and proclaim at the Nativity and the Feast of the Nativity that the order of nature is overcome in the Incarnation.

Now the question is, was the Incarnation just an event 2,000 years ago, or does it continue? And of course it continues.

Where does it continue? par excellence in the Eucharist, in the church, in the life of the church, in the body of Christ, in the temple of God, in all the mysteries, not just the Eucharist.

All the mysteries are an extension of the incarnation, continuation under the ages.

The Immaculate Heart of Mary signifies first of all the great purity and love of the Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary for God.

This purity is manifested in her yes to the Father at the Incarnation, her love for and cooperation with the Incarnate Son in his redemptive mission, and her docility to the Holy Spirit, enabling her to remain free of the stain of personal sin throughout her life.

Mary's Immaculate Heart, therefore, points us to her profound interior life, where she experienced both joys and sorrows, yet remained faithful, as we too are called to do.

Pray this novena for nine consecutive days and be sure to pray it with true devotion.
