In the Realm of the Senses

I would get to pick, and there was an administrator at Cornell who could help me book the films and everything.

There was a movie that had come out in 1982, '83, that had been released in the US a few years prior to that called In the Realm of the Senses.

It was a Japanese film.

And it was a notorious film made by, uh, Oshima, this great Japanese director.

The kind of, like, both of these films, as I mentioned at the beginning, to me, they're kind of about society and they're rejecting society, too.

Yeah, but see, one of my main points, because I think I mentioned during the last movie, this reminded me of In the Realm of the Senses, it's like, that rebellion... comes from society almost trying to prevent the rebellion in the first place.

It's like a paradox almost.

Society tries to repress these types of relationships, and in the process, it just creates them.

Yeah, honestly, in their own way.

And you know, it's

funny, Neil Boddard, in the realm of the senses, is like, I think he says like, it's like one of his absolute favorite movies.

I think it's literally like, on his top four right now, it's his number four movie right now.
