And everything that I've ever seen, everything that I've ever read, I mentioned last week or the week before, I'm reading a history of In Living Color.

And so much of Kenan Wayans' origin story is tied up with Robert Townsend.

So there's a lot of conversation about Robert Townsend as well.

It's, it's so weird looking at, at, especially because of all of the stupid-ass racism and misogyny and bigotry that we are all dealing with under the, you know, second Trump regime.

Um, 'cause I remember the, the late '80s and early '90s, and I remember Arsenio, and I remember In Living Color.

[chuckles] But, um, yeah, so today I'm gonna step away from the music, uh, scene today, and I'm just gonna talk about a TV show that made a huge impact on Black culture, comedy, television, and just entertainment in general.

And that show that came on television basically said, "We about to do comedy our way," and that show was "In Living Color." Yes, y'all.

That show was not your average comedy show.

It was edgy, unapologetic, loud, ridiculous, political, and just musical in general.

And most importantly, it gave Black performers a major platform during the time when opportunities for Black communi- comedians and entertainment on, um, mainstream television were still limited.

So let me take you guys back to the early '90s, and I'm gonna talk about the creation of In Living Color, the Wayans family, the unforgettable f- characters, the Fly Girls, the music, the celebrities that appeared on the show, and its influence that can still be seen today.
