IMG Academy

And then also, I have one last question.

Obviously, you were a guy that was from San Antonio, went to IMG Academy, and then ultimately picked Texas A&M.

If you take yourself back to that moment, what was it about Texas A&M that stood out to you during that era, and what made it home for you?

Yeah, so obviously most people know I was actually committed to Baylor, ended up decommitting.

He obviously leads the American Athletic Conference.

Obviously, he was the Rutgers Athletics and IMG Academy guy as well.

He also has a ton of experience in sports business experience.

Brett Gunning obviously was the Big 12's chief of staff under your mark.

But I think what's really highly relevant to our audience is you've also worked with a lot of young people.

And you were at IMG Academy heading up their mental conditioning program.

So we want to dig into a little bit of that.

But I've touched on some things, including you being an author.

So I said, okay, one time a week during practice, show up and I'll give you a tool a week.

Well, that little thing turned into working with other parents and soccer parents and dance parents led to a publisher reaching out and saying, hey, we need this turned into a book.

To the military saying, hey, can you come teach that to our soldiers? And then it kind of went from there to IMG Academy, to the Boston Red Sox.

But no matter all the athletes we've worked with from WWE to Toronto Maple Leafs to hockey, baseball, I truly believe the most important team that we could all, we're all part of is the family.

He got hurt his senior year.

He was going to play at IMG Academy, got hurt, and decided to go ahead and enroll in college so that he could kind of get acclimated to college and also could – recover in a college program which I think was a great idea for him but when Will Wade left he decided to come to Alabama who recruited him really hard out of high school and through he played two exhibition games he missed the third one against Auburn with a minor injury should be back for the first game but he was a really strong shooter in these two games he had 14 points against Furman four of 10 from three and then 18 points against Ole Miss four of eight from three so it's an average of nine threes a game that he's taking just a perfect fit for this offense.

He's a six foot eight wing and kind of like Samuels has never seen a three point look.

He doesn't like, and he doesn't need a lot of space to take it either, which is really nice.

So they brought in some hitters.

They went to IMG Academy.

They fully brought in some.

Who was the backup QB on the Jets? Mike White or Mike? It wasn't Mike White.

going to return.

And then you go to Asani Gales, super talented wide receiver down there at IMG Academy.

A lot of teams would love him on their team, but he stayed locked into Alabama as well when we've talked with him.

Trent Seaborn, someone told me that Trent Seaborn is probably the biggest recruiter in this class.

It was just there's more opportunity out here than what I was doing, which was in the golf division and looking for golf course design, golf course management and sports academy opportunities.

David Ledbetter Golf Academy, Nick Boletari Tennis Academy, all that ultimately got rolled up into IMG Academy, but started to see more opportunity.

So once it was agreed that we should have an office here and somebody said, well, who's going to do it? And I hadn't thought of that.

It was just more, well, we need to have a presence there.

There just aren't that many of them.

Kellen Miller, receiver out of IMG Academy down in Bradenton, Florida.

He was at Cass Tech up in Detroit.

Great program.
