There was a break in the sessions in August as Bowie and his wife Iman welcomed their baby daughter into the world and adjusted to parenthood.

Overdubbing took place in September, with Bowie wanting to infuse the sessions with the happy home vibe he was feeling.

So he requested to complete the record at Platy's home studio, known as Alice's Restaurant, named after Platy's daughter.
