Ilona Maher

There's some incredible opportunities across the country for women.

I think since the Sevens team won that bronze medal at the last Olympics and Ilona Maher has gone from, she was already big before.

A lot of people don't know this, but she was already pretty big before the last Olympics.

And she just kind of went into the stratosphere after the bronze medal.

Yeah.

And I, and I don't wanna gloss over the Ilona Maher effect.

I mean, what a legend, right? Millions of followers, social media.

I think every one of your readers will know, know her name.

I try my best to watch reality TV.

I only watched Dancing with the Stars when Ilona Maher was on it, though.

That's when I really locked in-

Yeah

So I got, uh, some advice out in the West Coast.

I went to visit Ilona Maher, friend of ours, uh, as-

I love Ilona

... especially a friend of Kylie and I's, in our time over in Paris at the Olympics, as well as since then she came to the shore this year to support Eagle's Autism Foundation.

Yes.

Sunny Leigh, Asia Wilson, Trinity Rodman, Ilona Maher.

Who's that? And then Coco Gauff.

Probably gotta be Asia.

You know who's got a great work/life balance? Female rugby players.

Are we talking Ilona Maher, or are we talking about, like, deeper?

Now others.

Yeah, started with her.

Now many others.

Is this a, is this a hot, thick rugby player? Is that what we're talking about?

Ilona Maher? Is that-

Yeah.

And you know, you just mentioned it, you know, learning who the players are, uh, supporting the players.

You know, everyone talks about the Ilona Maher effect.

So this is my last little bit of questions here, 'cause I said it earlier, uh, people are always talking we need more stars, and we need more, um, you know ...

I, I don't, I don't know how people put it, but everyone's talking like we gotta grow the game, and, and personalities.

And Ilona Maher, she's done awesome.

So before I get into my first question, is she like just genuinely that cool all the time? Like the, the way she comes across on everything she does, like- How cool is it to train and play with her, like, in sevens and she's done some fifteens? She always that awesome?

Yeah.
