Illinois–Purdue football rivalry

Purdue leads the series 48-47, while Illinois trails close behind.

Illinois is looking to claim the traveling Purdue Cannon Trophy for the third year in a row and pick up a win after a crushing 19-42 loss to Ohio State last weekend.

Purdue is coming off a 10-49 loss against Notre Dame.

This will be the Illini's first game without defensive coordinator Bobby Hawk, who was fired after the previous game.
