Ijma

It is speculative in nature, but it has ajmaa.

So going against that Ijmaa does not put you out of Ahl al-Sunnah, does not nullify your good deeds, but we say it's sinful to go against Ijmaa.

That means in, forget one generation, like sometimes it's like 10 generations, everyone's agreed that this is the correct meaning of an interpretive verse.

An interpretive, a verse that is up for interpretation.

I said, okay, we also disagree with their opinion.

In fact, we think of it as against Ijma.

But come on, they have given one thing with respect.

Whoever wants to believe, will believe.

Normally, this is a beautiful, beautiful benefit.

Normally, what we hear, is that Abdullah ibn Shaqiq has narrated the Ijma.

Here we have also Ishaq ibn Rahoya has reported such a thing as well.

Na'im.

There's no possible way to deny that in any form or fashion.

And then, of course, as he mentions, ijma'a, many matters are known by mutawatir transmission from the scholars of the ummah.

Okay, and what that means is someone that is going to adhere strictly to what's in the Quran and the Sunnah, I'm only going to adhere to what I find in the Quran and the Sunnah, and they don't consider ijma'a, which is the scholarly consensus of the salaf, then what's going to end up happening is they're going to be missing elements of the religion because there are elements of the religion that are transmitted mutawatir by way of the scholarly class, meaning understandings and applications and even certain practices, etc., are going to be transmitted in this manner.

And when they're transmitted by way of mutawatir transmission, they're accepted as ilm yaqini, it's ilm daruri.

It has to be accepted, you can't deny.

Three, three important things, right? This would be your takeaway right here from this passage.

Iqrar, imrar, and ithbat.

Iqrar, acknowledgment, to accept every authentic report from Allah and His Messenger and from ijma'al-Muslimin.

The hadith also teaches us that the Mawahideen, the people of Tawheed who enter Hellfire must exit Hellfire.

And this is consensus, Ijma' amongst the scholars.

There is no difference of opinion amongst Ahlus Sunnati wal Jama'ah.

It is only the Khawarij and the Mu'tazila and whoever follows their path who believe that if a Muslim enters Hellfire, they're in there forever.

So he's saying this قاعدة, this حديث is an important قاعدة and a foundation which allows us to refute with it and by it all types of innovations.

As for the أصول, الأصل الأول, the very first أصل الأصل في العبادات الأصل في العبادات المنع والتوقيف And the meaning of this is that the asl of the matter, the asl, the default ruling, is that it is impermissible to practice any religion, any act of ibadah, unless we have evidence from the Qur'an and the Sunnah, or the Ijma'a, or the Sahaba, or the Salaf.

So if a person wants to practice something into the religion, in any sort of ibadah to get closer to Allah with, they must have evidence for it.

And this is the opposite to normal matters of our day-to-day lives and worldly matters.
