If Tomorrow Never Comes

Like I said, I've been going out on a road with Craig, writing songs with guys like Kent Blazey.

I mean, I don't know if you're aware who Kent is, but Kent wrote If Tomorrow Never Comes and Ain't Going Down Until the Sun Comes Up and She's Gonna Make It and Somewhere Other Than the Night and Getting You Home by Chris Young.

And he's got so

many songs.

It's all of the songs you want to hear.

It's When You Say Nothing At All and Life Is A Rollercoaster and Loving Each Day and If Tomorrow Never Comes.

And then there's Boyzone hits like No Matter What and, you know, the songs that, you know, Baby Can I Hold You, those songs that Boyzone are known for.

So it's a real mixed bag, but it's the songs people want.

Caleb shifted in his seat and turned down the volume on the stereo.

Apt, he thought nervously.

The song was too raw for tonight.

So we threw all of the merch over the fence that was right behind us, and people were starting to faint and pass out.

And so here's Garth, probably 40 yards from us, and he's singing If Tomorrow Never Comes, and he walks over on that side of the stage, and one of us had a limp body of somebody who had fainted, and we were handing her over the fence to an EMT person, and he's singing If Tomorrow Never Comes [laughs]

Oh, no. [laughs]

... and his head's a little tilted.

Yeah, I hear a lot of that a lot of the time, whether it's a first dance at a wedding or a farewell at a funeral.

My songs have been, you know, the tapestry of people's lives from when you say nothing at all to if tomorrow never comes and then to party times with, you know, life is a roller coaster.

So I guess, yeah, I have heard those stories a lot.

People still come up to me and say, thank you.

It's the first dance at a wedding.

They're always lovely.

You know, it's heartbreaking when you hear the... you know, the If Tomorrow Never Comes lines at funerals.

But I guess as well, it's quite special, you know, when people share that with you.

But it feels like that.

I watched him sing If Tomorrow Never Comes, and I, I said that wrong.

The entire audience sang it.

He sang one word.

Our last pick in the round of eight is going to be Much Too Young to Feel This Damn Old, which took out I almost said somewhere other than here, but it's a Jimmy Buffett song somewhere other than the night in round one.

And then took out the American honky tonk bar association in round two, or if tomorrow never comes, which took out that girl as a cowboy, the impromptu play in game winner in round one, and then standing outside the fire in round two, this one here is going to start with Sarah.

Yep.

Um, These, ah, goodness, they're kind of similar songs to me in just, you know what, if tomorrow never comes.

That's my gut instinct.

I'm going to go.

You just don't know.

Much too young to fill this damn mold is also great because I think we are all feeling that at our ages that I believe are all very similar.
