Ida S. Scudder

He fulfilled that longing.

Um, she was affectionately called Aunt Ida on campus.

The next generation loved hanging out with her.

She played a great game of tennis.

And, uh, you know, God was continuing to leave, uh, to weave Ida's legacy into my life.

In answer to prayer, I was providentially introduced to the Vellore CMC Foundation, a foundation I had not even known existed in New York City, and I felt called, called by God to this work, and have now served with the foundation for around 12 years.

I'm just so humbled and grateful, you know, to be part of an organization that promotes Aunt Ida's legacy while helping to empower the next generation at CMC, uh, and also promoting the humanization of medicine through compassion.

As a foundation, we also seek to remain faithful to our mission and to run with endurance, as the Apostle Paul encouraged.

Grew up in a Lutheran campus where they had a Lutheran mission hospital and a school and other outreach aspects.

And then went into the college where I did my bachelor's, then to postgrad in a Christian medical college fellow, which is known, you can read about Ida Scudder as a missionary who started that organization.

So they normally not only teach you the medical aspects and the health care aspects, they also teach you to become a missionary in the field you are in.

And part of the post qualification, they normally post you in a remote area.
