But Juneau is a great place, just like Icy Strait Point, to go whale watching because there's a ton of whales there all through this time of year.

Icy Strait Point.

I love Icy Strait.

And you know, I know it was, that whole port exists for the cruise industry at this point.

Norwegian Joy had departed Seattle on Friday, September 11th for a 10-night round-trip sailing the ship's next-to-last Alaskan itinerary of the season.

Sitka is the ship's fourth port of call visit following Ketchikan on Sunday, September 13th, Juneau on Tuesday, September 15th, and Icy Strait Point on Wednesday, September 16th.

The ship also spent time in Glacier Bay for scenic cruising on Monday.

It is not known where Norwegian Joy may have impacted the whale or if the whale was already deceased at the time it got caught on the ship's bulbous bow, the protrusion just below the waterline that helps improve a ship's fuel efficiency.

Well, I want to jump right in and talk about your ports.

Now, you've got, I know you went to Icy Strait Point, but I know, of course, you've got Glacier Day and then you have, what is it, one or two other ports? I can't remember.

Then it was Glacier Day, Skagway, I see Straight Point and Ketchikan.

Well, sounds like a great day at Icy Strait.

Good tip, though, about it being kind of crowded when there's multiple cruise ships.

For those who don't know, Icy Strait Point is run and owned by a native tribe, but it's basically been built for cruise passengers.

So it's not like in... city like juneau or something that exists otherwise but also has like cruise passengers it was built specifically for cruise ships but it's wonderful because it does um get you know people to sort of visit the native community that like is really nearby and all of you know the money that is flowing into that community is coming from you know the tourism dollars which is another thing

So that's really cool.

I have heard that there's some excursion that involves CODA at Icy Strait Point, but I have...

Yeah, but I'll be honest and say I have not heard what it is.

It is a Disney Cruise Line booked excursion, of course, but I don't remember what it actually is.
