So Michael had run a post office up in the north of England for a long time.

He'd moved to Ibstock in northwest Leicester, where all the bricks come from.

And... with his wife Susan, and he was such a good sub-postmaster, they elected him chairman of the Sub-Postmasters Federation, so he got to negotiate with all the stakeholders, because effectively sub-postmasters are basically running their own business, and they get paid a wage by, a sub-postmaster's wage by the post office.

Is this post-privatisation or at the time pre-privatisation? It was pre-privatisation, but the post office was never privatised.
