Ibrahim Mahama

[upbeat music] Excavating Ghana's past to build firm foundations for its future, Ibrahim Mahama makes monumental artwork that raises questions about politics, trade, craftsmanship, and post-colonial dynamics.

He represented Ghana at the Venice Biennale for art and architecture, and with a major new exhibition at the Fondation Cartier in Paris.

Ibrahim joins us on Arts 24 to tell us more.

The concept that I am proposing to contribute to the discussion to work with archival material in the field of contemporary art Then I will give an insight, very precise and very concrete and detailed insight into methodologies of working curatorially with archives and thinking also, and thinking curatorially also with contemporary art practices.

It will go along the Entangled Internationalism project in which Kweisi Atuanan, Ibrahim Mahama, and many, many more people were involved.

If we have time, I will go to another project that was mentioned, Stanaki Forum Art and Research and Conversation, and I prepared a conclusion as a proposition for our conversation.

The moment I've realized I would like to work in that field that we call today the curatorial is an exhibition.
