Real control has to be enforced by the physical environment.

IBM Storage is doing this by integrating NVIDIA BlueField-4 data processing units, or DPUs, directly at the hardware level.

Okay, so what does that DPU actually do?

These DPUs are essentially dedicated tiny computers glued right onto the network card, completely separate from the main central processor where the AI agent is actually thinking and running.

Personal introductions, such as my next guest, who happens to be Eric Herzog, a Silicon Valley storage industry veteran with over three decades of marketing and sales leadership experience and a resume that reads like a history of the enterprise storage business itself.

He's held CMO and VP roles at giants like EMC and IBM Storage, and along the way has helped build several startups that have been successfully acquired.

And why I wanted to talk to him specifically is because given that breadth of experience that he's had, he's seen a lot of changes throughout his career and go to market in the way that they operate.

And of course, this Latest change with AI and AI agents is certainly a big one.
