What would you do if you were now back working in OEUK again, put on your advocacy hat again? What can be said? What arguments can be used? What evidence can be provided that would change hearts and minds of policymakers enough to reverse the trend?

Had the opportunity of working with Ian Wood for a year or so on the Wood Review, which, gosh, to my horror is 12, 12 years ago now.

Which was looking to how we reboot the sector as we saw it starting to mature quite severely and saw the regulator less engaged and less aware of what it's trying to achieve and less equipped to, to support it.

Well, that's what the creation of the Maximizing Economic Recovery program and the setting up of the Oil and Gas Authority, so much more strengthened regulator body, which is now the North Sea Transition Authority.
