George ClarkeGUEST
18:10
A really good friend of mine is Ian Callum, the car designer.
George ClarkeGUEST
18:15
He was a Jaguar for many years and now runs Callum Designs.
George ClarkeGUEST
18:18
I find it a joy talking with car designers because you've got to balance everything.
NickHOST

But And remember, it's going to sell for $80 at launch.
NickHOST
42:40
And a lot of people are probably buying the $100, the digital edition or whatever what I what I forget what they're calling it the digital deluxe version and then of course PC but I I really don't think it it did that that's insane though and remember GTA 5 generated a billion dollars in three days after going on sale in 2013 so I don't I don't foresee them losing that money even if it did cost that much Rockstar is pushing back though um head of publishing Jennifer Colby insisted that it is is not um it is not that at the same time they said that their next game will not take eight years to come out does that mean Red Dead Redemption 3 or something else but um Phil Hooker co-head of development said quote the engine the tools and the team we've built during this project will allow us to do things more quickly I feel confident that we can build on top of this and go more sideways than upwards to build more compelling content we foundationally changed a lot of stuff on this project but now it's done and we're not going to rip it apart unquote which makes sense I mean there was only a five-year gap between Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead 2 and look at what Red Dead 2 looked like so we'll see I don't think we're ever going to return to the years of GTAs coming out very quickly after each other but hopefully we're not waiting a decade for whatever the next major Rockstar game is we'll have to see though we got to wait for Grand Theft Auto release in a month anyway final gaming news here Xbox has a new controller that they've announced this had been leaked and rumored for a while but this is the Xbox Nano controller it is a smaller version of the current controller they make the Series X controller and it doesn't give full measurements but the Xbox blog says it's about five inches long 3.5 ounces and much smaller and lighter it will cost around $50 down from the 70 that it costs you for a regular controller now which is an insane price it will be compatible with Xbox consoles but the the push here is for connecting to TVs laptops and other smart devices which you know you can get Xbox Xbox's remote play or what do they call it cloud gaming Xbox cloud gaming with you know this is an Xbox that thing I guess they decided to release it anyway but I think people like this this will be bundled with new Samsung TVs select ones and come with two months of game pass over the holiday season this is who it's aimed at it's there it's for people on game pass and cloud gaming they're working out a deal with meta to include it with a meta quest as well that hasn't been finalized and they're hoping to have that out for the for the holiday season but you can pre-order the controller now again it will connect to most TVs via Bluetooth and any other devices that support it like if you wanted to play some cloud game on on your tablet or your phone you could do it but like I said many companies do many controllers this is just Xbox's first one but we'll see it fits in your pocket and you can start it in November so there you go nano controller that's it for gaming let's let's head on up the the five freeway and see what's going on in Hollywood shall we looks like Jeremy Clarkson hasn't given up on cars just yet a new special is coming to Amazon Prime video next year as a crossover between his show Clarkson's farm and his original show grand tour called Jeremy grows a car it will be a Clarkson's farm special it is expected to release sometime next year before the next season of Clarkson's farm of course and and when when I say grow a car I mean that quite literally prime is positioning it as Jeremy will attempt to grow the component major components for the car on his farm on diddly squat farm and and everything sourced from it so it will they will use a Jaguar F-type V6s as the base they will use leather from from Jeremy's cows he will grow flax for use in fiber as an alternative to carbon fiber and and wool carpets and everything like that so everything from his farm in addition to Jeremy Clarkson car designer Ian Callum will assist he was the original designer of the Jaguar F-type the Jaguar XK the CX 75 the Aston Martin Vanquish DB7 and DB9 and has worked with Ford and Nissan as well this will air sometime next year Digger is expected to lose two hundred and fifty million dollars for Warner Brothers, which is crazy.
NickHOST
48:58
Uh, The Wrap is, is claiming it, uh, saying that insiders at, at Skydance are not anticipating Digger will exceed more than a forty million dollar take at the global o- box office, um, after bringing in only twenty million total, which, not great.
NickHOST
49:15
Hopefully things get better.
Steve CropleyHOST
58:05
He's susceptible.
Steve CropleyHOST
58:06
Do you see there's a story about how he's taking his F-Type to pieces and rebuilding it with the help of Ian Callum into
Matt PriorHOST
58:14
a car devoid of...
Steve CropleyHOST
58:16
Sort of modern electronic nonsense.
Julian ThompsonGUEST
20:59
So I'm, I'm very pleased to see those people.
Andrew FrankelHOST
21:01
Um, we were talking to your very great friend, Ian Callum, and I wanna talk to you about Ian Callum again in a, in a minute, um, at his, uh, Vanquish 25 event.
Andrew FrankelHOST
21:12
And he was saying that he loved the Vanquish, and he was really, really proud of it, but the reason he decided to redo it was he wasn't allowed to do quite the car that he wanted to do, and there are all sorts of areas where he thought he could do better, which is why 25 years on, that's exactly what he did.
Andrew FrankelHOST
21:30
Is there anything about that S1 Elise which wasn't the way you wanted it to be but kinda had to be? I mean, Ian talks about, for instance, the entire side of the Vanquish looks different be- to the way he wanted it to be because of it had to have a Ford key with a barrel, with a Ford barrel in it, which cr- which required a certain amount of width, which meant that the sort of Coke bottle shape wasn't as accentuated as he wanted it to be.

8 MINS LATER

Julian ThompsonGUEST
29:25
And they, they did that, you know.
Julian ThompsonGUEST
29:28
All I can really, uh, I can thank them for providing that as a, as a low volume way of doing things, and just, uh, working so closely alongside design that the two came together in such a, a nice fashion.
Jez MedingerHOST
29:41
Tell me a little bit about moving on from Lotus to work with Ian Callum at JLR, and what that relation...
Jez MedingerHOST
29:46
How did that come about, and what was the working relationship like between you?

The material is being explored as a sustainable alternative to carbon fiber, potentially giving a familiar agricultural crop a very different end market.

... which was designed body work by Ian Callum, this amazing thing, and then the Sandrider kind of evolved out of that.
Gareth JonesHOST
19:46
And now Dacia are no longer running that chassis, that car.
Gareth JonesHOST
19:51
Um, apparently Prodrive are gonna run a car badged Aston Martin that is largely based on that car.
Matt D'AndriaHOST
29:47
Yeah.
Alistair WeaverHOST
29:48
Ian Callum, who, you know, you and I both know well, was the designer, and it was all about the rebirth of Jaguar.
Alistair WeaverHOST
29:53
We were gonna, you know, come back, and it was gonna be this, and it was gonna be that, and it was gonna be modernized, and it was basically gonna beat the Germans and blah, blah, blah.
Alistair WeaverHOST
30:02
And it didn't really happen.
