Which just one of those things where it's just like crazy.

Uh, so there was a, at one point there was some talks about having it be a, have a fifth episode and recording another like 12 minutes of stuff.

Mm-hmm.

But, uh, Ian Briggs didn't wanna rewrite it because he thought that the pacing was already good enough that like, adding t- stuff to it would've made it worse.

So they decided to cut like 12 minutes, which now of course we have on the extended version.

Stuff like that.

Yeah, Ian Briggs has clearly put a lot of thought into every single character in this story and i don't think you'd say that about many doctor who stories some characters just have a function but here i think ian briggs knows the relationship and past relationship of everyone in the story i mean it's all

there in the book but the book is somewhat more agonizing than the tv one because yeah i'm

not i did find the target a little disappointing because all that stuff where you're trying to read between the lines it just kind of overwhelms you with the lines specifics yeah yeah and it's funny that you say about the new adventures because whatever you think of um this is a master manipulator seventh doctor i actually think this is the peak of it as in you couldn't really go any higher than this

And then those books just do it again and again.

Interestingly, I mean, I just want to add that obviously J&T vetoed the story that ian briggs wanted to write which was about alan shuring and homosexuality and that's dr judson within this story and the homosexuality is the fact that he's disabled he just found another way of telling that story of a man sort of trapped um but then you go oof way forward into like the eighth doctor books i'm back in the books again but they do a book called the turing test and it's all about turing's homosexuality and how the doctor kind of seduces him to get his own way there are loads of interesting things going on and boy things changed didn't they they changed quick in the wilderness years
