I'm a Believer

Neil Diamond wrote it, and the Monkees had a number one hit with it in 1966.

But what song was recorded yet again for the Shrek soundtrack by the band Smash Mouth, picking at number 25 in 2001? That's I'm a Believer.

It is I'm a Believer.

And that is your 14th point.

And you have these tangents, 1960s music, covers, soundtracks, or 2000s films.

And I know that they didn't write this, so technically this isn't really a monkeys thing, but it's associated more with the monkeys than most other people.

And the Smash Mouth cover of I'm a Believer is just like, Oh, somebody, somebody stabbed them and stopped them.

I mean,

Well, you know, they didn't really do anything that wasn't in the original record.

Yeah.

What, um, was, I'm a Believe- Smash Mouth also recorded the Monkees' I'm a Believer, a cover version of that song.

Was that in the original Shrek or a later Shrek?

That's a good question.

Um, I think it's s- uh, I even put such a fun soundtrack start to back.

You know, the key songs to me are I'm a Believer, Smash, You know, by Smash Mouth.

My Beloved Monster by The Eels.

I like The Eels.
