I Love to Tell the Story

October 5th through 30th, 2026.

In 1880, Arabella Catherine Hankey penned the now familiar words, I love to tell the story of unseen things above, of Jesus and his glory, of Jesus and his love.

Originally composed as a

lengthy poem during a season of physical rehabilitation, her verses were later adapted into the hymn, cherished by generations of believers.

Its melody is gentle, but its message is bold.

The story of Jesus is worth telling, and it must be told.

For generations, the refrain, I love to tell the story, has stirred the church toward evangelistic faithfulness.

Yet in contemporary Christian life, that aspiration is often met with hesitation.
