I'll Be Seeing You

But, but, um, anyway, I think, I think people will get the message.

Um, the, the last song I wanted to ask about on the album is I'll Be Seeing You, and that's, that's a song that, like, I always, I can't hear that and also not immediately go to, um, Les Paul and Mary Ford's Long, Long Time.

To me, those two songs are, are intertwined for some reason.

But it's a, it's a really beautiful song, um, I'll Be Seeing You.

It is a beautiful song.

I'm, I'm afraid I don't know the, the Les Paul song, Mary Ford song, but I, but I, um, yeah, I'll Be Seeing You, it's kind of, in a way, the linchpin of the album.

I, I think the, I mean, the, The Blood of Others, the title came from, from a novel that really has nothing to do with the album content.

Uh, it just w- seemed to me, the title just seemed like a really fitting one for, um, a collection of other people's songs.

[laughs]

... of I'll Be Seeing You, which is d- not sung very often.

Mm-hmm.

And I just made up a brand-new verse.

Uh, the soldiers were leaving, and the audience saw the cast look like they were sobbing, but meanwhile, they were laughing like-

[laughs]

... "What are you doing, Anne? You're making up a new verse to I'll Be Seeing You"

[laughs]

Antonio Banderas singing Take Me to the World from Evening Primrose.

Chris Pine singing I'll Be Seeing You, I've Grown Accustomed to Your Face from Right This Way.

And Jamie Foxx singing Climb Every Mountain from The Sound of Music.

Wild.

And we heard the tune, So You Want to Be a Woman? And then Emily Remler on guitar from her 1990 album, This Is Me.

We heard the tune, You Know What I'm Saying? And then we ended up with the Sammy Fane tune, I'll Be Seeing You, Julian Lodge there.

The tune dates back to 1936.

It comes from a stage musical, Right This Way.

It was written just before World War II.

I'll Be Seeing You.

Bye.

Thank you.
