I think one of my favorite songs or my song of this summer has been I Feel Love.

well that's kind of

evergreen that's the blueprint for like every dance song ever it's so good yeah like even I have a song called Seven Up on the album that like the bassline is like and it's been on so many so many dance songs you can't really beat it it's just very infectious

And suddenly it was, you know, it was a game changer on so many levels.

And then these new tracks came in and suddenly it was just like, it's like disco, right? You had disco and then suddenly they brought, in comes Donna Sung with I Feel Love, changed the game changer.

That's a great track.

Yeah, totally.

The energy of I Feel Love was the game changer of disco, you know.

And suddenly in comes that influx of high energy from disco.

Yeah.

But I am a huge Donna Summer fan.

And again, you know, the record I put on my Rolling Stone ballot because I knew it would make the list is I Feel Love.

And make no mistake, I Feel Love is, you know, the most totemic Donna Summer single for what it did, how it literally invented electronic dance music.

But it's not a number one hit.

Among her number one hits, I could just as easily have listed Hot Stuff, which I love, Bad Girls, which is an amazing, amazing record.

that that you know even in

like electronic music there's like I was listening to I Feel Love by Donna Summer.

Fabulous track.

Mum, do you know what it would be? I'll tell you what it would be.

If it's the last moment on earth, it will have to be the Patrick Cowley remix of Donna Summer's I Feel Love, but the 15 minute, 42 second version, because that will give us another 15 minutes, 42 seconds on earth before we all perish.

And I think her tone is just so... gorgeous and the control that she has on her voice.

And she can sing really low and then do sort of ethereal vocals like she does on I Feel Love, which is one of the most important dance songs ever made.

And that is something that I would also like to put a parenthesis on.

The female vocalists of house music in general are so underrated, but they are such forces.

Her voice is so...

Her artistry is so...

The way that she's able to use her vocals to create this artful experience and the versatility to go from something like I Feel Love to singing Papa Can You Hear Me to... singing Andrea Bocelli like it makes me feel crazy to have her be

that much higher than Nina Simone like that's what makes me go like well but we can

I didn't quite remember that, so that was very interesting to me.

Um, I love the kind of evocation of Don- Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder with the I Feel Love, obviously.

Like, the title, the energy of the song, I think, is very much nodding to the people who inspire her, and that's something I love in this too.

Contrary to, to what many people believe, I find Madonna to be the most generous of artists in that when she does, um, get inspired by someone, you know.

Yeah.

Or Frida Kahlo was, or, you know, she, she's always, like, referencing her favorite authors, artists, musicians.

And she's obviously covered I Feel Love, you know, on, in the Confessions Tour one, but, right? It was I Feel Love that she did.
