I Am Cat

This might not be shovelware.

I Am Monkey comes to us from New Folder Games, the developers of the illustrious I Am Cat.

We know they make good I Am games.

They've got I Am Security on the way.

How about if we try it this way? Right, it seems like they're all, like, right outside this cage.

It doesn't seem like you have a lot of room to move around.

Um, I'm assuming the control scheme is similar to I Am Cat.

Uh, there's no release window on this, no release date, no nothing.

Like she doesn't have any friends on there.

She just wanted crochet patterns, right? Another example is she was using a VR headset to be able to play I Am Cat.

And it also identified her as a child and tried to kick her off the platform.

So my husband had to go in and do age verification as a 49-year-old man so that he can play I Am Cat.

And so in many ways, age verification is taking the rights of parents away and moving it to regulators and platforms on saying what is appropriate and what is not appropriate for my kid to be able to do online.

So I think because of the privacy implications of age verification and then also the question on, well, who's to say what is developmentally appropriate for a child based on age? Age verification seems like a magic bullet solution, but nothing that I've seen about age verification shows me that it's actually going to work.

But like, how well did it chart? Right.

It fell behind the I am cat, which is like, yeah, I get it, man.

It's like a great meme game.

Great live stream game.

It's fun.

I like I am cat, but it's been out for months.

I am cash shouldn't be on the sales chart.

Like it should, it should kind of hover around number five or six for the rest of eternity with job simulator swordsman, you know, it's kind of entry-level VR games.
