Mm-hmm.

But after Worlds and being able to perform in that setting, albeit with a little bit less pressure going in, I didn't expect to podium at that race where I think a couple of races prior to that started to put a lot of expectation on specific times or specific finishing placement.

And it just took the joy out of things a lot and also just added this weight and stress and almost made me feel small in the days leading up to an event just because it felt like there was always this insurmountable pressure.

But Worlds was very light.

You know, the result was strong and was reflective of the work that I'd done for...

I guess the six or eight months prior to that.

And then leaving Worlds, I found going back to work was tough just because my mind always was in training.

And then you think about the schedule to getting up at 4.30 to train at 5.30 and then you're in the office by 8, go home, eat quick, and then you're training again in the evening.

They are a l- like, they're a great running shoe for, for fl- like, straight running, but on the corners, I did feel them internally roll more than I felt comfortable with.

And, and I've only run, run one race, which was Worlds, and I couldn't get a pair for my mixed doubles partner, so we just ran in a matching pair of Pro 4s.

Yeah

... we got the center turf.

But even, like, talking to, to Rich, he obviously wore them at Worlds, and he said the same thing, that they just were not great on the pull, and him and Pelayo wore, both wore them, and their, their sled pull was, like, I wanna say, like, 20, 25 seconds slower than normal.

Uh, and I don't think there was really anything different other than the shoes.

So I did, I took their advice and I quit and I was scared, but obviously excited.

But I essentially had three months at that point until Worlds.

And I was like, okay, I've got three months.

I'm going to train like a professional athlete, live like a professional athlete.

see what happens at Worlds.

And if I think this lifestyle is good for me and I win, then, you know, maybe I'll be able to carry on doing this.

And I did and I won.

You're just more in control, which is so positive to hear because I feel like there's not enough awareness around that.

Yeah, the world champs and their age group for doubles.

I think the fastest time for mixed doubles at Worlds.

So yeah, we do have a soft spot for Ryan Douglas.

But yeah, we were kind of rooting for him.

So obviously you've got a big, a big block of races coming up now, so you can gain a load of experience.

I mean, touch wood, hopefully this year you'll be going to Worlds.

So what is your aspirations in the next three races? You've got three races coming up in the next six weeks or so.

Yeah.

'Cause like, like I think you have to be a good enough runner.

Obviously, your running has to be at a certain level.

Like you can't be running four-minute Ks and winning Worlds.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.
